1 Who We Are

MicroShiftIQ ("we", "us", or "our") is a micro-learning mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our app. Please read it carefully.

2 Information We Collect

Account Information

MicroShiftIQ requires you to create an account to use the app. You can sign up using your email address and password, or via Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google. When you create an account, we collect and store your email address and a unique user ID in our database (powered by Supabase).

Profile Information

During onboarding and use of the app, we collect and store the following profile data linked to your account:

  • Display name — optional name you set in the app
  • Topic preferences — the subjects you choose to learn about (e.g. Psychology, Finance)
  • Daily learning goal — how many lessons per day you set
  • Subscription tier — whether you are on the Free or Pro plan

Learning Activity

We record your in-app learning activity linked to your account, including:

  • Lesson progress — which lessons you have started or completed, cards completed, and XP earned
  • Streaks & XP — your current streak, longest streak, total XP, and level
  • Bookmarks — cards you have saved, including a snapshot of the card content
  • Timestamps — when lessons were started and completed

This data is stored both locally on your device and synced to our server so your progress is preserved across devices.

Technical Data

  • App performance data — crash logs and error reports to keep the app stable
  • Subscription status — validated via Apple and RevenueCat to unlock Pro features; we never store payment card details

What We Do NOT Collect

  • Precise or coarse location
  • Contacts or address book
  • Health or fitness data
  • Microphone, camera, or photos
  • Financial or payment information (handled entirely by Apple)
  • Browsing history outside of this app
  • Sensitive personal information of any kind

3 Data We Collect — Summary

When you create an account, we collect your email address and store it securely in our database. Your profile information — including display name, topic preferences, and daily goal — is also stored and linked to your account. This allows your experience to be personalised and consistent across sessions and devices.

Your learning activity, including lesson completions, streaks, XP, and bookmarks, is recorded and linked to your account. This data exists purely to power your in-app experience and progress tracking — it is not used for advertising or sold to any third party.

We collect basic technical data such as crash logs to keep the app running smoothly. Your subscription status is verified via Apple and RevenueCat — we never see or store your payment card details or Apple ID credentials.

We do not collect location, contacts, photos, health data, or any other sensitive personal information. We do not track you across other apps or websites.

4 How We Use Your Information

5 Third-Party Services

We use the following trusted third-party providers to operate the app. Each has their own privacy policy governing how they handle data.

Supabase

We use Supabase as our backend database and authentication provider. Your account information (email, profile, progress, bookmarks, streaks) is stored securely in Supabase. Supabase also handles sign-in with email/password, Apple, and Google.

Apple Sign In & App Store

You can sign in using your Apple ID via Sign in with Apple. All in-app subscriptions and purchases are processed entirely by Apple. We never see or store your payment card details or Apple ID credentials.

Google Sign In

You can optionally sign in using your Google account. If you choose this method, Google shares your email address and basic profile information with us to create your account. We do not receive your Google password.

RevenueCat

We use RevenueCat to manage and validate subscription status. RevenueCat receives your Supabase user ID and anonymised purchase receipt data from Apple to confirm whether a subscription is active. No payment card details are shared with RevenueCat.

6 Data Retention & Deletion

8 Children's Privacy

MicroShiftIQ is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the European Union). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under these ages. We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. These measures include encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), Supabase row-level security rules, and strict access controls.

However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, but we continuously work to protect the data we do collect.

MicroShiftIQ provides all content strictly on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
